The First Tee of Southern Nevada, the leading youth golf organization that enriches lives and develops better citizens, ensures that participants learn the fundamentals of golf and its inherent values by providing accessible and affordable golf experiences including the life skills curriculum based Golf Fore Kids and Danny Gans Junior Golf Academy developmental programs, the SNJGA Tour competitive tournament program, and the Driving the Dream scholarship program for higher education. Champions are being developed both on and off the courses.
In 2007, more than 65,000 young people in Southern Nevada participated in First Tee programming through our Danny Gans Jr. Golf Academy, Open Clinics, Elementary and Middle School programs and our Jr. Golf Tour. Forty-three junior golfers participated on all expense paid travel teams and represented The First Tee of Southern Nevada in the Western States Jr. Golf Association Tournament held in Los Angeles, California; Boys Jr. America's Cup held in Vancouver, Washington; Girls Jr. America's Cup held in Calgary, British Columbia, Canada; Hogan Cup in Portland, Oregon; Mary Cave Cup in San Diego, California; and the Trusted Choice Big "I" Jr. Classic in Pinehurst, North Carolina. In addition, The First Tee of Southern Nevada sent three juniors to Kansas State University to participate in The First Tee Leadership Academy at Colbert Hills and awarded four four-year scholarships to graduating seniors for higher education. The First Tee of Southern Nevada is "introducing kids to the best in life through the game of golf."
